FORDA urges govt to expedite NEET PG 2022 counselling

The NEET PG 2022 counselling was all set to start on September 1, however, Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) postponed it just a few days before it was about to commence. The unexpected and prolonged delay in the NEET PG 2022 counselling is making the candidates anxious and various doctors associations have also criticised MCC's decision to defer the examination until further notice.

The Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has written to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and requested him to expedite NEET PG 2022 counselling process.

FORDA INDIA's tweet reads, "Respected Sir, Request you to kindly take a note of the plight of young doctors and take necessary measures to expedite NEET PG 2022 counselling process."

FORDA's letter highlighted that the examination was conducted on May 21 amid an uncertain situation where a large section of candidates was protesting to demand the postponement of NEET PG 2022 but the government went ahead and conducted the examination on the fixed schedule to bring back normalcy in medical education. Even the results were declared in 10 days, on June 1, 2022.

The letter reads, "It is very distasteful and disheartening knowing about such laid back attitude from a national government body (NMC). We fail to understand the reasons for such procedural delays and we stand highly disappointed with this unceremonious attitude of NMC leading to distress among aspirants and junior doctors."
