NEET 2024 Re Exam News

The Union Education Ministry ratified the need to conduct a fresh round of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance-Test for Undergraduates (NEET-UG) for all 24 Lakh candidates, subject to directives of the Supreme Court verdict to go ahead.

Reportedly, The Union Education Ministry are open to organising a retest for all 24 lakh NEET UG aspirants if the apex court gives their consent for a retest for all, as reported by The New Indian Express.

NEET UG Re-exam on June 23 for 1563 Students

Meanwhile, NTA will conduct the NEET 2024 re-exam for 1563 students on June 23, 2024, who had experienced time loss during the originally scheduled examination on May 5, 2024, and were awarded compensatory grace marks. The NEET results 2024 for 1563 candidates will be announced by June 30, 2024.

Stakeholders suggested that conducting a re-exam for 1563 candidates who were allotted grace marks is not the solution for all the students who appeared for the examination. Hence, conducting a retest for all 24 lakh students without discrepancies will be feasible for all.

In the meantime, The authorities have highlighted that the NEET UG counselling will be held as per the timeline of the MCC. CENTAC Puducherry has issued a notification highlighting that the counselling process for NEET UG and PG will be held as per the planned timeline of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

NEET UG 2024 come under severe criticism ever since the release of exam results on June 4, 2024. The authorities were questioned on several grounds including the following:

Q1. How can 67 students get full 720/720 marks in NEET UG 2024?
Q2. Why NTA allotted grace marks to students.
Q3. How can students receive 718 marks in the NEET 2024 exam?

Reportedly, around 30 petitions have been filed in the Supreme  Court on the matter, besides a large number of pleas in various high courts.
