IMA appeals to Health Minister to resolve NEET PG Counseling delay
IMA has expressed its anguish on police action on a peaceful demand of doctors for their right cause.
A delegation led by National President of Indian Medical Association (IMA) Dr Sahajanand Prasad Singh along with other office bearers met with Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Mansukh
Mandaviya to resolve the issue of delayed admission into the PG Medical Courses.
Earlier during the day today Resident Doctors who were protesting for the past 14 days demanding NEET PG Counselling dates called off their agitation and announced to return back to work from 12 PM today.
IMA has expressed its anguish on police action on a peaceful demand of doctors for their right cause. IMA has said in a statement: "Thousands of young doctors are waiting for over a year to enter into the PG Medical Courses which were delayed due to Covid Pandemic."
IMA has also appealed to the Health Minister and Home Minister to unconditionally withdraw the FIR lodged against the striking junior doctors.
IMA has stated in a statement: โIn the present scenario, when 3rd wave of COVID is raising its head with Omicron variant, it is all the more important to enhance the existing Medical manpower in different hospitals.โ
It has been stated that it is unfortunate that resident doctors are forced to go on strike in spite of their significant contribution during the COVID pandemic even while preparing for NEET PG Exams.
โWe are hopeful that with the assurance given by the Honโble Union Health Minister, the above issue will be resolved soon,โ IMA said.
