Indians returned from Ukraine: TN provides counselling to students, parents
Tamil Nadu government is providing counselling to scores of medical students who returned from Ukraine to help them in handling the stress.
The future of nearly 1,500 medical students who returned from Ukraine to Tamil Nadu looks uncertain at the moment. They have a lot of challenges and stress to deal with and to help them in coping better with the difficult situation, the state government has appointed 20 councillors to talk to such students and also their parents.
TN govt launches tele-counselling as part of 104 helplines
The state government has launched the tele-counselling as part of 104 helplines. Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian said, "The councillors will talk to the students and parents on Wednesday and Thursday. They will not just provide counselling to the students and their family members but also speak to them on what needs to be done for the future of their children," as reported by Deccan Herald.
He said the councillors will submit a report with details of students and their opinion on what should be done for the continuation of studies of these students.
Ma Subramanian also said that the state government was ready to help these students in continuing their studies but the decision rests with the Central government.
CM MK Stalin requested PM Modi to find a way out
Chief Minister MK Stalin had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged him to find ways to help these students in continuing their studies.
"Since the beginning of the conflict, over 1200 medical students have so far returned to Tamil Nadu and the remaining students are also expected to return in the coming days. The current situation has already resulted in the disruption of their studies and also threatens their future careers", the letter said.
