Karanataka DME increases reservations for in-service docs from 15% to 20%
As per the report, the Karanataka Directorate of Medical Education (DME) has increased the reservation for in-service doctors in PG admissions from 15% to 20% for the academic year 2022-2023.
This came after the Karnataka High Court had quashed the government order which reduced the reservations for in-service doctors.
Earlier, 206 PG medical seats were reserved for the in-service doctors and now as many as 279 seats are available, as reported by The Hindu.
The high court had also quashed the seat matrix issued by the state DME on October 9, 2022, and said, "State government shall be at liberty to prescribe the quota for in-service candidates afresh while taking into account relevant criteria and fill up the seats."
KEA had also announced a list of 1793 candidates with insufficient documents for supporting their reservation for UG CET-2022. For most of these candidates, the caste, income and revenue document numbers are mismatched, these candidates have been called today along with the required documents to support their claims.
