MHT CET medical PG merit list: Candidates allege foul play

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell released the first merit list for the NEET PG Counselling 2022. After the list was announced, Maharashtra's NEET PG 2022 medical candidates alleged foul play as the number of seats allotted is lesser than the seat matrix declared last week.

As per the seat matrix released earlier, there were a total of 2,212 seats up for grabs for medical PG courses in Maharashtra. However, when the list was announced, the candidates found that there was no allotment on several seats which were seen in the seat matrix. β€œTotal of 400 seats have been kept out of the allotment. This is highly unfair as it impacts our chances to get into a desired course and college. Government medical college seats are the highest in those which are left out by CET Cell,” said a candidate, as reported by Indian Express.

A notice was uploaded by CET Cell confirming the reduction in seats at the time of allotment. The notice reads, β€œThere are some seats, for which some of the necessary permissions are awaited and hence they are not included in the first round of allotment. These seats will be considered during subsequent rounds for allotment once all the necessary permissions are received.”

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell is expected to release the provisional merit list of candidates registered for MHT CET counselling 2022 today, October 7, 2022. Candidates who registered for the counselling process will be able to check the merit list once it is released.
