Many Indian medical students have come back to India from Ukraine due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine and their chance of going back to continue studies also look bleak as the war is still on. While the government is finding ways so that these students can continue their studies in India, several Ukrainian medical universities mostly located in western Ukraine have commenced online classes.

This gives students some hope but they are also concerned about not being able to attend practical classes which are extremely important for a medical course.

Some of these colleges which have started online classes are Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University, Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, Vinnytsia National Pirogov Medical University and Bogomolets National Medical University, as reported by News 18.

Kanishk, a first-year student of Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University said, "Something is better than nothing. I am happy that the classes have resumed, finally. We were really worried about what would happen to our future now that Ukraine is engaged in a war with Russia."

Manogya, another first-year student said, "Teachers got very emotional. We discussed a little about the war. They have been teaching us from hideouts and safe places. I am glad the classes have resumed."

More Ukrainian medical universities to start online classes

The Kharkiv National Medical University is expected to start online classes from March 21. A student of this university said, "Our university has announced that online classes will start from March 21. It is good news that the classes are resuming. Practical classes have not been held so far. Teachers are giving presentations and showing us slides to ensure maximum understanding. They are also recording videos of chemical reactions so that it is easier for us to understand."
