Medical students enrolled in Chinese universities seek PM Modi intervention to return to China
Scores of Indian medical students studying in Chinese universities have urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help them in returning to China.
Due to travel restrictions imposed by China amid the Covid-19 pandemic, thousands of Indian medical students studying in Chinese universities have been stuck in India and they are waiting to go back to their colleges so that they can attend the practical classes instead of depending on online classes. Now, these students have urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in this matter.
National Medical Commission (NMC) has recently notified that it does not recognize or approve medical courses done only by online mode. Hence, now students are panicking more and want to return back to their respective colleges in China as soon as possible.
The students are demanding to return back to China on Twitter, following are a few related tweets:
"Our Indian government should talk with China for 23,000 Indian students. We are stuck up from 24 months. We are depressed. Even our degree is in DANGER .We are vaccinated and ready for Quarantine. Please help us"
"Instead of taking practicals for medical classes, we are taking practical classes for anxiety and depression.. it’s really high time govt should think about us!"
Why the discrimination? If you can call back students from other countries, why not us?! We deserve proper offline classes. Students are not a joke."
"The Indian Embassy in Beijing is constantly raising the issue of students with the Chinese ministries, but China does not have a comment on this issue."
