Those candidates who have cleared NEET 2020 exam can apply for the five seats, under the scheme. As per the scheme, candidates who are wards of deceased Covid warriors and front line workers can apply for the scheme.

The Puducherry government has announced that five undergraduate medical seats have been reserved for the children of deceased COVID-19 warriors from the state in as many colleges across the country for 2020-21 under a central scheme. The seats have been reserved in Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi, MGMS Wardha (Maharashtra), NSCB Medical college Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), JLN Medical College (Ajmer) and GMC Haldwani (Uttarakhand), Health and Family Welfare Director S Mohan Kumar said.

Those candidates who have cleared NEET 2020 exam can apply for the five seats, under the scheme. As per the scheme, candidates who are wards of deceased Covid warriors and front line workers can apply for the scheme, Mr. Kumar said. The applications should be submitted at the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services here by December 17.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan had last month announced the scheme, saying it was aimed at honouring the noble contribution made by Covid-19 warriors who have lost their lives due to the infection or died accidentally on account of Covid-19-related duty. The state and union territory governments will certify the eligibility for this category, it was stated.

The NEET-UG examination was conducted on September 23, 2020, and the NEET Result 2020 was declared on October 17.

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), last week, had released the list of candidates who have joined after NEET 2020 Counselling Round 2. As per the official data, MCC released the complete list of the qualified candidates who have taken admission after the completion of Round 2 of the 2020 NEET Counselling on December 9, 2020.
