NEET aspirant from UP commits suicide in Kota

Kota Suicides: Despite multiple precautionary measures taken by state government authorities, yet another NEET aspirant has committed suicide in Kota. The deceased student is identified as Nisha Ahir (22). She was found hanging from ceiling fan in her hostel room, said police.
She committed suicide in Mahavir Nagar on Wednesday night, said Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Kundan Kumar of the Jawahar Nagar police station, as reported by News 18.
He said that no suicide not was found in the girl's room. Police is yet to confirm the real reason behind this suicide. However, they added that the probe is going on and the reason can only be known once the family members reach Kota and also the post-mortem report comes. This is reportedly 26th such case in the region this year.
Two days earlier, another NEET aspirant from West Bengal also died reportedly by suicide. He was also found hanging in his rented room and was declared brought dead at the hospital. In this case also, no suicide note was found and the real reason behind the extreme step is yet to be identified.
Mostly immense pressure to clear NEET exam is seen as the prime factor to push students to take the extreme step. Kota is a hub for such students who are preparing for NEET and JEE exams. They come from different states here and stay in rented rooms and hostel and prepare for the examination. This is probably the 26th such case of suicide which is alarming enough to make the authorities restless.
Every year, number of registration of students is increasing for NEET UG exam which is adding to the competition.
