NEET: Career options beyond MBBS and BDS
MBBS and BDS are definitely not the end of the road for NEET candidates, as there are many other fields related to medical stream which the candidates can choose for a promising career.
Becoming a doctor is a childhood dream for many and clearing NEET is the only gateway for this dream career. However, what if one scores less in NEET exams as it is highly competitive and lakhs of students appear for the examination every year? So, what are the career options one has on basis of NEET scoring if the person is not able to secure a seat for MBBS and BDS courses? Well, one examination cannot decide the future of any student, and there are plenty of promising options even if one does not secure the NEET cutoff percentile. How exciting are these options totally depends on one's interest.
Let's glance through the options available to students beyond being traditional allopathic doctors:
AYUSH Courses: One can go for AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopathy) courses. The AYUSH 2021 counselling process is expected to begin soon by Ayush Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC). Once, the counselling process starts, the students can register at the official website aaccc.gov.in. The AYUSH related courses are Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS), Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS).
