Nearly 300 resident doctors from B J Government Medical College in Maharashtra have joined the protest against the unprecedented delay in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Postgraduate) 2021 Counselling.

The nationwide protest of resident doctors to expedite NEET PG 2021 Counselling is only intensifying with every passing day.

The latest is, around 300 resident doctors from B J Government Medical College in Maharashtra have also joined this protest. They are demanding an immediate start of the counselling process.

The resident doctors all over the country are reportedly exhausted and overworked due to the shortage of staff in government medical colleges. Also, as the threat of another Covid wave is looming in India, the doctors want the government to immediately start admission for medical PG courses so that the resident doctors can get support from first-year PG students.

Maharashtra resident doctors are protesting since Monday, December 6, and they have stopped OPD (outpatient department) services in the state. The doctors have only continued the emergency services.

Similar protests are going on in other parts of the country including New Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Assam, etc.

Health Ministry urges SC for speedy hearing on EWS Criteria 

After assuring FORDA (Federation of Resident Doctors Association) and the resident doctors at RML Hospital that the Health Ministry would try for an early hearing in Supreme Court related to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category criteria in NEET counselling, as per reports, the Union Health Ministry has urged the top court for an early hearing on this matter.
