NEET PG 2021: MoS Health said 1456 vacant seats reverted back to respective universities
Minister of State (MoS) Health Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar replied on 1456 vacant seats of NEET PG 2021 and whether the allocated seats were filled by the medical colleges.
The reply given in Lok Sabha says, "Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has been entrusted by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India to conduct counselling for 50% of All India Quota, 100% Deemed, 100% Central Universities and 100% PG DNB seats of Post Graduate courses (MD/MS/Diploma/PG DNB) as per the scheme devised by the Hon'ble court."
"According to the order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court, the MCC of DGHS was directed to conduct four rounds of online counselling. MCC conducted five rounds of counselling for PG seats for the academic year 2021 including a special round of counselling. 1456 seats remained vacant. The vacant seats in respect of Deemed Universities were reverted back to respective universities," added Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar.
NEET PG 2021: Special round conducted for 146 PG seats
Under the direction of the Supreme Court of India, a special round was held for 146 postgraduate seats which were added in the Mop-Up round. The registration for the special round was carried out between April 1 to April 2 and the processing of seat allotment for the NEET PG counselling 2021 special round was done on April 3. The court had also directed that the students who have joined in Round 2 either of the State Quota or of the AIQ can participate in this special round without Forfeiture of their Security Deposit.
