NEET PG 2021 revised date announced, Exam on Sept 11

NEET PG 2021 exam date has been announced. the exam will be held on September 11 at designated centres across the country. Earlier the exam, scheduled for April 18, was postponed for at least four months. Read to know more.

NEET PG 2021 exam will be conducted on September 11, 2021, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has announced. The exam was earlier scheduled to be held on April 18, 2021 but it was postponed amid Covid-19 outbreak. "We have decided to conduct #NEET Postgraduate exam on 11th September, 2021. My best wishes to young medical aspirants!" Mandaviya tweeted on Tuesday, July 13.

On April 15, the then Health Minister Harsh Vardhan had postponed the exam amid the rising number of Covid cases across the country. Later in the first week of May Centre postponed the NEET PG 2021 exam for at least four months from its scheduled date. The official notification said the exam will not be conducted before August 31, 2021. The decision was among a slew of measures undertaken to ensure enough the availability of enough health personnel to tackle the rising number of Covid cases across the country. Earlier, NEET PG 2021 candidates were demanding to prepone the exam to early August. They believed that covid cases may rise after August.

NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation), is conducted for providing admissions to various MD (Doctor of Medicine)/ MS (Master of Surgery) and PG Diploma courses across the country. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts the exam once a year in computer-based mode. The scores are also used for taking admissions into postgraduate MBBS DNB courses.

On Monday, July 12, the revised dates for NEET 2021 exam was announced by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. As per the revised date, NEET 2021 exam will be held on September 12.
