NEET PG 2022 Counselling expected to start on September 19
As per the latest reports, Medical Counselling Committee can start NEET PG 2022 Counselling on September 19, 2022.
Official sources have said yesterday that NEET PG 2022 counselling can start on September 19, 2022. It was scheduled to start today, September 1. However, at the last moment, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) postponed the counselling process to add more seats.
The sources also added that the Union Health Ministry can upload the counselling schedule in a few days, as reported by The Hindu.
"The NEET PG Counselling, 2022 was scheduled to commence from September 1. However, National Medical Commission (NMC) is in the process of issuing a new letter of permissions (LoPs) for the current academic year and the same will be concluded till September 15. Hence, in order to include more seats in the counselling for the benefit of the candidates, it has been decided by the competent authority to re-schedule the NEET PG Counselling, 2022 which was scheduled to commence from September 1," reads the MCC's statement.
Before the Covid pandemic, the NEET PG exam used to be conducted in January and the counselling used to start in March. However, after the pandemic, last year also counselling got delayed unprecedently and this year also the whole admission process got delayed. The exam was conducted on May 21 and the results came out on June 1, NEET PG 2022 candidates are still waiting for the counselling to begin. Various doctor associations have raised questions about MCC's decision to postpone the counselling at the last moment and they have urged expedition of the NEET PG 2022 counselling process.
The process involves online registration, paying the fee, filling preferences for college and course, seat allotment results and reporting to the allotted colleges for document verifications and admission formalities.
