NEET PG 2024 Exam Postponed: Students, Parents Outrage Over Postponement
The postponement of NEET PG 2024 a day before the scheduled date caused chaos among the parents and medical students. Students expressed anguish against NEET PG 2024 postponement decision claiming so much pain for so many students.
The NEET PG 2024 exam was scheduled to be conducted today i.e. June 23, 2024. However, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has released a notification, less than 12 hours before the scheduled exam time, stating the postponement of the NEET PG 2024 exam. The ministry said that the decision was taken in the best interest of students and to maintain the sanctity of the examination.

"Taking into consideration the recent incidents of allegations regarding the integrity of certain competitive examinations, the Ministry of Health has decided to undertake a thorough assessment of the robustness of processes of NEET-PG Entrance Examination, conducted by the National Board of Examination for medical students," said the Health Ministry.
However, the decision of the NEET PG 2024 exam postponement made students and parents express anguish with such sudden postponement. Many students had to travel to other cities to reach their assigned NEET PG exam centre a day before. Meanwhile, several students said that the postponement created a waste of time, money and effort of the students, as reported by NDTV.
Students' Outrage Over NEET PG 2024 Exam Postponement
Several students shared their dissatisfaction as provided below:
A student posted on social media platform X, formerly Twitter saying "Unbelievable. Sir, I, unfortunately, was diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukaemia 6 months earlier. I am in remission now but I have to take oral chemotherapy meds and still prepared day and night for the exam. These people have no idea the difficulty some of us go through,"
Another medico shared that one of his juniors travelled 200 KM, booked a stay for the whole family and the examination was postponed.
A girl from Himachal Pradesh shared that she is a resident of Himachal Pradesh and works there. However, she was allotted the NEET PG 2024 exam centre in Hisar, Haryana. Despite travelling for 470 KM to take the examination, all she got was disappointment.
Students are seeking answers from the government as well as the authorities over the alleged irregularities in the national-level entrance test. Meanwhile, the government has constituted a high-level committee of experts to make recommendations on reform of the national-level entrance examination process improvement in data security protocols, structure and functioning of the NTA.
