Several aspirants have allegedly claimed that the NEET PG 2024 exam city allotment has been randomly allotted and their least preferred exam city was assigned.

The National Board of Education (NBE) has announced the NEET PG exam city allotment 2024 for students. The NEET PG 2024 test city allotment has been intimated to candidates via SMS on their registered mobile numbers.

However, numerous candidates have flooded the social media platform 'X'. formerly Twitter, highlighting their dissatisfaction with the NEET PG exam city allotted to them. Reportedly, students have claimed that they have been allotted exam cities for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) that were their least preferred choice.

NEET PG 2024 Exam City: Stress of Arrangements

The NBE has allotted the NEET PG 2024 exam city on the registered mobile number of the applicants and also made city allotment slips available for download for the students. However, Students have claimed that the NEET PG 2024 exam city has been 'randomly' allotted to them and the cities are too far from the intended location, as reported by Free Press Journal. 

Besides, few students have claimed that they have been assigned NEET PG exam cities that are over 100 Kilometers away. Subsequently, the stress of arrangements before the examination has made students furious.

Students' Major Concern on NEET PG 2024 Exam City Allotment

The NEET PG 2024 test city allotment has made students furious for several reasons including the following: 

1. Extensive Travel Cost: Students have claimed that since the exam cities have been allotted far away from the desired location, students have to travel extensively. For instance, a student from Kerala has been assigned the NEET PG 2024 exam city in Vishakhapatnam. The student has to travel over 1,000 kilometres for which a two-way flight would approximately cost INR 40,000. Besides, the accommodation and arrangement cost within two weeks would double the boarding and lodging rates. In total, the aforementioned student has to spend close to INR 50-60K for the examination. 

2. Cloudburst and Flood in Several Areas of India: Students have also shared their concerns due to extreme weather conditions. Recent floods and cloudbursts have made unpleasant flight, train, and accommodation booking experiences for students. 

NEET PG 2024: Students Demands from NBE

The NEET PG aspirants are demanding NBE to address the following issues:

1. Better Transparency of  Impoatnt Details: Students urged NBE to provide clarity on NEET PG including exam results, normalisation scores, exam shift timing, NEET PG 2024 result date and counselling schedule. 

2. Re-evaluation of exam centre allocation. 
3. Administrative Reforms: Students are demanding NBE to address inconsistency in centre allocations for regions including Mahe and Yanam to align with their geographical location.

Q:   When will NBE conduct NEET PG 2024 exam?

A:

NEET PG 2024 exam was held on August 11 in two shifts. The exam was conducted in computer-based mode. The question paper of NEET PG 2024 comprised 200 multiple choice questions and candidates were given 3.5 hours to answer them. NBE declared NEET PG 2024 result on August 23, 2024.

Q:   Will marks be deducted for unanswered questions in NEET PG?

A:

No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions as per the existing NEET PG pattern. Such questions will not be taken into consideration while calculating marks of a candidate. Candidates are advised to attempt only those questions where they are confident of right answer. If there is iota of doubt of correct answer, candidates are advised to leave that question. Otherwise, negative marking may reduce your total score which will ultimately impact your overall performance.

 

Q:   Has NBE released NEET PG 2024 date notification?

A:

Yes. NBE has released official notification for NEET PG 2024 exam date after postponement. The exam was held on August 11 as per the revised schedule. The exam was held in two shifts. Earlier the exam was supposed to be held on June 23 but it was postponed. NBE declared NEET PG 2024 result on August 23, 2024. 

Q:   Will NEET PG 2024 exam held in pen and paper mode?

A:

No. NEET PG 2024 exam was held in online mode on August 11, 2024. According to NEET PG pattern, the question paper had 200 multiple choice questions and candidates were provided 3.5 hours to answer them. Candidates have to score the minimum cut off to qualify for the exam. Qualifying cut off differ for each category. NBE declared NEET PG 2024 result on August 23, 2024.

Q:   Will NEET PG held for 2025-26 session?

A:

NEET PG 2025 may not happen as it will be replaced by NExT. AIIMS will release the official notification regarding NExT exam. Most probably the exit test will be implemented from August 2025 for 2020 batch MBBS students. The exam conducting body will clear air of doubts by October end most likley.

NTE has become incompetent to conduct the NEET PG exam by announcing the last minute postponement and now allotting exam centers randomly causing severe difficulties to students both in terms time and money involved for travelling to far away places
