NEET PG 2024 SC Hearing

The Supreme Court of India has postponed the hearing date regarding transparency in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduation (NEET PG) 2024 until the next date. The bench has postponed the hearing petition by 19 NEET PG candidates who filed their petition to the Supreme Court owing to last-minute changes in the exam pattern and lesser transparency in the examination process. The SC hearing on NEET PG 2024 was scheduled for today i.e. October 25, 2024, which now has been postponed till the next date. The petitioner has raised significant concerns over the NEET 2024 examination process along with pointing out the absence of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in the NEET PG examination. 

NEET PG 2024 Latest News 

As per the NEET PG 2024 latest news, several states have facing confusion regarding the counselling process. Reportedly, Several states including Rajasthan may delay the NEET PG state counselling process owing to the National Board of Examination (NBE)'s decision to withhold scores. NBE has released the NEET PG percentile scores and ranking for the students who appeared for the NEET PG exam. Consequently, the release of percentile scores has created difficulty for the state government and medical bodies to prepare a combined merit list as the raw scores of the candidates are not available for the preparation of a combined merit list.

Meanwhile, Justice JB Pardiwala has questioned NBE regarding the availability of the NEET PG 2024 answer key and the absence of an information memorandum for the examination. The bench further highlights the need for clear guidelines for the examination. 

In the meantime, NEET PG 2024 counselling registration is ongoing for the qualified students. However, the authorities are yet to announce the complete NEET PG 2024 counselling schedule. The MCC is expected to announce the NEET PG 2024 counselling dates and schedule anytime shortly at mcc.nic.in. Students who have qualified the NEET PG 2024 qualifying cutoff and have completed the counselling registration are anxious that due to further delay, the academic session would be hampered. 

Q: Β  Will NEET PG held for 2025-26 session?

A:

NEET PG 2025 may not happen as it will be replaced by NExT. AIIMS will release the official notification regarding NExT exam. Most probably the exit test will be implemented from August 2025 for 2020 batch MBBS students. The exam conducting body will clear air of doubts by October end most likley.

Q: Β  Will NEET PG 2024 exam held in pen and paper mode?

A:

No. NEET PG 2024 exam was held in online mode on August 11, 2024. According to NEET PG pattern, the question paper had 200 multiple choice questions and candidates were provided 3.5 hours to answer them. Candidates have to score the minimum cut off to qualify for the exam. Qualifying cut off differ for each category. NBE declared NEET PG 2024 result on August 23, 2024.
