To protest against the unprecedented delay in NEET PG Counselling 2021, FAIMA has decided to completely shut down the elective services from today.

After the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) started a nationwide strike of resident doctors from November 27, 2021, now FAIMA (Federation of All India Medical Association) has joined them in demanding expedition of the counselling process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) through a complete shutdown of the elective services from December 1, 2021.

The decision was taken on November 29, 2021, in an emergency meeting attended by many top RDA (Resident Doctors Associations) officials and FAIMA office bearers. FAIMA also tweeted on November 30, "@FAIMA_INDIA_ stands with all other State RDAs.We support their decision to continue the nationwide agitation to expedite NEET PG 2021 Counselling! Nationwide RDAs' Strike to Continue!@ANI @PTI_News @ians_india @uniindianews @OfficeOf_MM @mansukhmandviya @DghsIndia @MoHFW_INDIA

As per the FAIMA press release, the nationwide protests and agitation by resident doctors throughout the country to expedite NEET PG 2021 counselling shall continue as decided till a written statement mentioning the date of judicial hearing or commencement of counselling is issued from a competent authority.

The press release further reads, "With the possibility of an imminent upcoming Covid wave, it is essential that the counselling process is started at the earliest to prevent collapse of the healthcare system."

Recently, the Centre informed the Supreme Court that they need four weeks time to once again decide on the annual income criteria to determine the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category for NEET Counselling and assured the court that the counselling will be conducted after their final decision. This has once again postponed the NEET PG Counselling 2021.
