NEET PG Counselling 2021: FORDA decides to hold strike for a week
After Health Minister urged Supreme Court for a speedy hearing on EWS criteria in NEET counselling, FORDA has decided to hold the agitation for one week.
Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) has released an official statement which said that considering that a plea was issued by MoHFW for fast-tracking the court hearing on Economically Weaker Section (EWS) matter and also considering the security situation of the nation owing to the untimely demise of Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat & other army personnel, FORDA had decided to hold the agitation for one week.
FORDA INDIA tweet on December 9, reads "#PressRelease: Considering the @MoHFW_INDIA plea for expediting #NEETPGCounselling & assurance by Hon’ble @mansukhmandviya Sir & looking at the security situation of the nation, #FORDA has decided to hold the agitation for a week @PMOIndia"
The press release further added, "After discussing with State RDA representatives in a virtual meeting held today, 9th December 2021. We express our sincere gratitude to all Resident Doctors of the nation who came forward & joined the agitation called by FORDA. We are resuming all services with immediate effect. In case the issue is not addressed by 16th December 2021 we will be forced to call for a complete shutdown of all services except COVID areas in healthcare institutions."
FORDA had started the nationwide strike against the unprecedented delay in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Postgraduate) NEET PG 2021 counselling on November 27 and later on resident doctors all across the nation joined the protest. The demand is to immediately start the counselling process for admission into PG medical courses.
