NEET PG Counselling 2022: DGHS apprises Madras HC that admission date extended to Jan 14

Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Medical Sciences and Dhanalakshmi Medical College had sought an extension for filling stray vacancies for the state quota of NEET PG counselling 2022, now MCC has extended the date to January 14, 2022.

After the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) notified the state counselling authorities regarding the extension of the time limit for admission and counselling, the Director General of Health Services (DGHS) informed the Madras High Court that the time limit for the admissions through NEET PG counselling 2022 for both the All India Quota (AIQ) & State Quota stands extended up to January 14, 2023.

Justice CV Karthikeyan of the Madras HC was hearing a petition filed by Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Medical Sciences and Dhanalakshmi Medical College where the college had sought a direction to extend the time limit for filing the stray vacancies for state quota for the PG medical courses.

"Since, Medical counselling committee is in receipt of representations from several States regarding extension of last date of admission for PG counselling 2022-23, the competent authorities have decided that the timeline for AIQ counselling & State counselling should be on same lines. Therefore, all the state counselling authorities are hereby informed that last date of admission/ counselling for State quota is extended till 14.01.2023," reads MCC's statement in this regard.

The committee has directed the state counselling authorities to adhere to the timelines aforementioned & complete the whole process of counselling by January 14, 2023.
