NEET PG counselling 2022 one-day halt not to affect schedule: DGHS
The director general of health services said that halting NEET PG counselling 2022 for one day is “not going to affect the counselling schedule.”
After the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) had withdrawn the NEET PG counselling 2022 round 1 provisional result due to some technical glitch, the director general of health services (DGHS) has said that the one-day halt is not going to affect the entire counselling schedule.
He tweeted, “Due to software/ web portal upgradation, some seats were not visible to few candidates during choice filling. On request of these candidates, counselling has been halted briefly for a day, in the interest of the students only; however, it is not going to affect the counselling schedule.”
“MCC/ DGHS is committed to transparency and neutrality, it is earnestly requested that the society cooperates responsibly and not indulge in any rumours, likely to cause confusion,” he added.
This is being seen as a response to the questions raised by various doctors organisations - FAIMA and FORDA. The doctors association FORDA has even issued a letter to the health ministry that said, "Citing a procedural error as a reason for withdrawal of counselling result not only shows a lack of sensitivity, incompetence, and inadequate use of technology by the MCC but also shows a blatant disregard to the emotions and aspirations of thousands of affected candidates and their families."
Dr Rohan Krishnan, National President and Founding Member of FAIMA also met the DGHS regarding the same and later on tweeted, "Met @DghsIndia regarding the cancellation of allotted seats of round 1 NEET PG counselling. They have explained that due to some glitch in software few seats were not added which have to be added now. They have confirmed that this will not be delayed now."
