NEET SS 2022: FORDA requests to conduct mop-up round 2 to fill vacant seats
After a special NEET SS 2022 mop-up round was conducted for vacant 1000 seats, even now 900 seats are lying vacant and the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has requested one more mop-round to fill these seats. The doctors association has written to the health ministry to urge the ministry to conduct NEET SS 2022 mop-up round 2.
Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has requested the union health ministry to conduct a NEET SS 2022 mop-up round 2 as even after the special NEET SS 2022 mop-up round was held, as many as 900 seats are still vacant.
"We can’t let these precious seats go waste! Even after a mop-up round for #NEETSS2022, around 900 seats are lying vacant. As the Hon’ble court remarked-‘these seats are national assests’. Requesting @DghsIndia @NMC_IND to conduct MOP UP-round 2," reads FORDA India's tweet.
FORDA's letter to the health ministry has highlighted that many seats are still vacant.
"In February, Honourable Supreme Court had allowed some candidates (6) who were alloted seats in the first two rounds to surrender their seats and exit the counselling process. In a notification released on 14th Feb (Ref. U-12021/01/2022-MEC) those seats were added to the mop up round as well. Despite these efforts, around 500 (900 as per our data) seats are still vacant. Additionally, more students have filed petitions seeking similar relief, awaiting a judgement," reads the letter.
FORDA said that these seats are national assets and should not go waste.
"We suggest that another mop-up round be considered in the larger interest of the students and citizens who stand to benefit immensely from having more super-specialty doctors in the country. Furthermore, in our efforts to prevent seat wastage, it is our earnest request that the seats which were not joined by the candidates to whom they were allotted, be also made a part of this mop-up round, thereby adding to the seat pool. A provision for the same may be initiated by your esteemed office to facilitate them to relinquish their seat in case they do not continue with it," added FORDA's letter.
