The Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has announced that the deliberations for a mop-up round for NEET SS 2022 are in their final stages and a notification regarding the same is expected soon. FORDA and FAIMA had written to the health ministry to request a NEET SS 2022 mop-up round for 1000 vacant seats.

NEET SS 2022 mop-up round: Notification expected soon, says FORDA

Various doctors associations including the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) and Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) were requesting a mop-up round for the remaining 1000 seats of NEET SS 2022.

FORDA's letter in this regard reads, "After the current counselling process (both round 1 and round 2) more than 1000 seats have remained unfilled across the country. The gravity of this tremendous loss of opportunity cannot be stressed enough and this necessitates an urgent solution. In the recent past, the cut-off score was decreased significantly to make up for the eligibility. We suggest and request that a similar step can be considered along with the conduct of a mop-up round, for the current session."

FAIMA's letter says, "Every year thousands of post MD/MS resident doctors appear in this exam chasing their dream. Each Super Specialist doctors add to the strength of ground doctors which helps the patient & society in the best possible ways. This plays a very important role in providing strength to the existing healthcare system of this country which has also been proved during the Covid pandemic. If the seats remain vacant during the counselling procedure there is not only a loss of one seat but a loss to the existing doctors on the ground for many patients and the healthcare system of the country."
