NEET UG 2021: Exam pattern will have no change, says Sources
NEET 2021 is expected to be conducted in offline mode. Further delay will affect the new session so NEET 2021 will be conducted between June and July, said the sources.
NEET 2021 exam pattern will have no changes for this session. A few days ago, the education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal βNishankβ has said that the authorities are considering conducting the NEET 2021 twice a year and later on the Union Health Ministry, on February 8, 2021, has given its nod for the same.
The official NEET 2021 dates are not yet announced by the NTA, though it is speculated that the national level entrance exam will be held in June or July after the CBSE board exams are concluded.
As per media portals, Secretary, Higher Education, Amit Khare has said that βany changes in the NEET 2021 exam pattern with such short notice will be unfair to the candidates preparing for NEET-UG 2021 and any further delay in the entrance test will affect the next session.β
Earlier, the Union Education Minister in his interview has said that the senior officials of the education and health ministries along with the NTA had a discussion regarding the frequency of the NEET 2021 exam in online mode but, no decision was made on time. NEET 2021 aspirants are now demanding to conduct the exam twice a year in online mode on the basis of the success of conducting JEE Main four times a year in online mode, in order to get more chances to improve their scores.
βIn our view, NEET should be held more than once a year because at times it is possible that for some reasons, a candidate is not able to properly concentrate for a particular attempt. That should not result in the waste of one year. But multiple exams cannot be conducted in pen and paper mode. It will have to be computer-based,β media sources reported Khare as saying.
βIt requires consultation with all the stakeholders because there is a difference between JEE and NEET. JEE is not compulsory for all engineering colleges, whereas NEET is mandatory for admission to all medical colleges. Also suppose a biology student is not comfortable with a computer, they need to practice and learn. That is why for any changes, we will give six to eight monthsβ notice.β Khare added when asked about conducting NEET in online mode.
