"It is essential to ensure that students are not pushed to the brink of suicide due to academic pressure. The concerned authorities must work together to implement measures to reduce the mental pressure on students," reads the AIJNSA's letter.

The Association has suggested that sufficient preparation time must be provided to the aspirants, coordination between NTA and state boards should be improved, and NTA must address irregularities in the exam process and take necessary measures to prevent suicide cases.

AIJNSA also recommends providing counselling services, helplines and other resources to help students cope with stress and exam pressure.

"The NHRC must take urgent action to address this issue and ensure that the academic pressure on students is reduced. It is essential to provide adequate support to students and prevent such incidents from recurring in the future," stated AIJNSA.

The students' association also suggested to the health minister to consider taking the NEET exam twice a year to reduce exam pressure.
