NEET UG 2024: NTA to release lighter syllabus next week

NEET UG 2024 syllabus to be revised again: Several education boards including CBSE and NCERT reduced the syllabus for classes IX to XII due to academic disruption during the pandemic.
As per reports, National Testing Agency is all set to notify a rationalised syllabus for the NEET UG 2024 next week. The syllabus is being revised based on inputs from National Medical Commission after consultations with various Boards which rationalised their senior secondary syllabus during the pandemic.
"NTA will notify NEET-UG syllabus next week so that it helps students in preparation. It will be reduced syllabus. The students will be getting over six months to plan their studies for the entrance test," said NTA Director General Subodh Kumar singh, as reported by TOI.
NTA's lighter NEET UG 2024 syllabus details
The present Class XII batch was in Class XI when rationalisation of syllabus was started. However, the syllabus for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) and JEE (Main) was not changed so far. So far, NEET UG 2024 syllabus has undergone major changes including certain chapters across the three subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology have been removed. Moreover, some chapters or topics have been modified or added. The NEET 2024 exam pattern is likely to remain the same as last year.
More than 20 lakh candidates are expected to appear in NEET UG 2024 exam. The exam will be held in 13 languages. It is for admission to MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, BAMS, Veterinary, and other medical/paramedical courses in India.
NEET 2024 exam is scheduled to be held on May 5, 2024. The registration process for the entrance exam for admission to undergraduate medical, dental and allied courses is expected to be started in March 2024.
