MCC has notified that all NEET UG 2022 counselling candidates participating in Round 2, who wish convert their nationality to NRI, have to submit the supporting document by November 5, 10 AM. Know the details here.

NEET UG Counselling 2022 Round 2 NRI Conversion Window Open Till November 5

The registration process for the NEET UG 2022 Round 2 has commenced on November 3. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced that candidates who wish to convert their nationality category from Indian to NRI must submit the requisite documents by November 5 through email. Those who would be unable to send the necessary documents within the stipulated date would be considered as Indian nationality candidates.

Announcing the same, MCC has stated, “Candidates should send their relevant documents as mentioned below, in support of their claim to change nationality from Indian to NRI through email ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com from 05:00 PM of 3rd November, 2022, (Thursday) till 10:00 A.M of 5th November, 2022 (Saturday).”

Candidates have to download the Annexure document from the official website of MCC and send the email in the given format and after filling the form, and attaching all the documents in a single email. They must also note that once their nationality category is converted to NRI, there would be no way to revoke the nationality back to Indian.

Conditions Applicable for Converting NEET 2022 Counselling Candidates from Indian to NRI

MCC has stated the following conditions that would be applicable for candidates who are willing to convert their nationality from Indian to NRI:

  • Candidates must have cleared NEET 2022 and eligible to participate in the counselling

  • Upon conversion of nationality, they would be considered as NRI in the upcoming rounds of NEET UG counselling 2022

  • Once they are converted as NRI candidates, they would not be able to avail the benefit under Muslim Minority quota/Jain Minority Quota or any other Quota.

Documents Required for Nationality Change in NEET UG Counselling 2022

Following are the documents which the candidates need to send through email:

  • Documents claiming that the sponsorer is an NRI (Passport, Visa of the sponsorer).

  • Relationship of NRI with the candidate as per the court orders

  • Affidavit from the sponsorer that he/ she will sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate duly notarized.

  • Embassy Certificate of the Sponsorer (Certificate from the Consulate).

  • NEET Score Card of the candidate.

As per the original schedule, the NEET UG counselling 2022 Round 2 registration process was to begin on November 2 but was delayed by a day. MCC has not announced any further changes in the schedule. The last date to register is November 7 and the seat allotment result will be declared on November 11.
