NExT exam is going to happen for 2019 batch MBBS: FAIMA Chairman
NExT 2024: NMC conducted a webinar on National Exit Test (NExT) exam today with medical colleges, and as per the National Chairman of the FAIMA, there are still many things not clear on the upcoming exam.
Dr Rohan Krishnan, the National Chairman of the Federation of All India Medical Association, has said that even after the webinar conducted by the NMC today on the National Exit Test (NExT), there are still many things not clear. However, he said that one thing is certain the upcoming exam will be held for the 2019 batch MBBS and it will be conducted in two phases.
His tweet reads, "After the webinar conducted by @NMC_IND , there are still many things not clear, however it is certain that NEXT is going to happen for 2019 batch MBBS & it will be conducted in two phases MCQ & Practical. Ny other questions.. pls ask me i will try to get answers of that NEXT is going to happen for 2019 batch MBBS & it will be conducted in two phases MCQ & Practical."
One of the responses to this tweet said, "Sir Many of us get centres in distant cities,sometimes even in other state. If #NExT 1 is followed,we'll have to make stay arrangements for almost a week. Apart from hefty exam fee,paying for hotel for 6 days will be too much burden on our pockets. #NEETPG Pls Raise this issue."
Another tweet by Dr.Shubham Anand, National Chairman of Global Association of Indian Medical Students says, "Summary of Today's Webinar on #NEXT 1)NEXT will happen twice a year, 2)2019 batch will face NEXT, 3)Mock Exam in July,Registration starts 28 June, 4)NEXT Step 1 will be CBT Mcq exam, 5)NEXT Step 2 will be practical based pass/fail exam, 6) Previous batches: Choice of both Neet & NEXT."
The upcoming exam NExt is going to replace the NEET PG 2023 exam for final year MBBS students as well as the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination, FMGE Screening Test. It will be held in two phases - Part 1 and Part 2 exam. Part 1 will focus on the theory paper and part 2 will focus on the practical exam.
