NMC warns against fake letters issued to medical colleges

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has alerted the medical colleges and institutes against the fake letters issued on the behalf of NMC. The Commission has warned the institutes to only reply to genuine letters, circulars, and notices available on the Commission's website.

The Commission has noticed that a fake letter from the Undergraduate Medical Education Board of NMC dated February 3, 2024, issued under the signature of the undersigned is circulating in social media. NMC has declared it FAKE and said that no such letter has been issued by the Commission.

"It is brought to the notice of all stakeholders that there is no such letter dated 03.02.2023 issued by UGMEB of NMC. All the stakeholders including Medical Colleges are hereby advised to not to fall in trap of any such fake letter(s), if the same is not received through dedicated email of UGMEB, NMC as well as by post from NMC," says NMC's notification.

The Commission said that the medical institutes must know that all the important letters, circulars and public notices are posted on the National Medical Commission website i.e. www.nmc.org.in. NMC advised to check the official website regularly to verify the genuineness of notices, circulars and letters.

"In case of any doubt same be please be clarified from UGMEB of NMC.All concerned are alerted to reply upon genuine letters, circulars, and notices available on NMC website only. National Medical Commission shall initiate action under the relevant law against such fake messages in social media," added NMC.
