PGIMER to organise CME cum Workshop on Oct 14 to Oct 15

The Dept of Medical Micrology of PGIMER Chandigarh will organise a national CME cum workshop for faculty members from October 14 to October 15, 2022.

PGIMER's Department of Medical Microbiology is organising a national CME cum workshop for faculty members on the theme: Diagnosis and Genomic surveillance of neglected diarrhoeal pathogens. The workshop will be organised from October 14 to October 15, 2022.

"This CME cum workshop is for faculty members only. I request you to nominate one faculty member from your department to attend this CME cum Workshop and send their name to email id: entericpgi@gmail.com/e-mail or undersigned. There is no registration fee and no TA/DA will be paid. The participants will make their own travel and accommodation arrangements," reads the official notification.

PGIMER's plan to launch MBBS course next year

The medical institute is planning to propose it before the standing finance committee for budget approval for launching the MBBS course next year. 

PGIMER has proposed a state-of-the-art medical college with an intake of 100 students for the MBBS course, which it plans to start at the institute’s extension in Sarangpur. The 500-bed hospital is being set up at an estimated cost of INR 1,800 crore.

Kumar Gaurav Dhawan, deputy director, PGIMER said, “The agenda for setting up the MBBS course will be placed before the standing finance committee, which is scheduled in October. The budget approval will also be a part of the meeting, as Rajesh Bhushan, secretary, Union ministry of health and family welfare, will chair it," as reported by Hindustan Times.
