The controversy has cast a shadow over the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET UG 2024 exam. Critics argue that the integrity of the exam has been compromised

Allegations of widespread malpractice in the NEET UG 2024 examination have sparked outrage among political leaders, who are demanding a thorough investigation into the matter.

Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted about the gravity of the NEET scam, accusing the government of denying the possibility of a paper leak despite clear anomalies. He referenced Congress's manifesto pledge to combat the "paper leak industry" and assured students that he would advocate for their concerns in Parliament, emphasizing that the youth's voices would not be silenced under the INDIA alliance.

AAP Leader Sanjay Singh raised several questions in a tweet, suggesting that the results were announced early on June 4 to overshadow the Lok Sabha election results, thereby covering up the paper leak. He highlighted the unprecedented number of students who scored perfect marks, raising doubts about the integrity of the exam process. Singh emphasized that the future of 24 lakh students was jeopardized, calling for immediate action against those responsible.

Chandra Shekhar Aazad, Bhim Army Chief and recently elected Lok Sabha MP, described the paper leak as a shameful act and accused the government of complicity. He pointed out the improbability of students scoring 718 or 719 marks given the NEET marking scheme, which awards 4 marks for each correct answer and deducts 1 mark for each incorrect one. Aazad vowed that the Azad Samaj Party (Bheem Army) would advocate for the affected students both on the streets and in Parliament.

The Congress Party, through a series of tweets, condemned the manipulation of NEET 2024 results. They noted that the manipulation had devastating effects, including student suicides, and called for an immediate investigation and justice for the affected students. Congress leaders highlighted the discrepancies in the results, comparing them to previous years' outcomes where only a few students achieved perfect scores.

Adding to the mounting concerns, CPIM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury stated, "The NEET 2024 scandal is a grim reminder of the systemic failures plaguing our examination system. The government's silence is deafening. An independent inquiry is imperative to restore faith in the educational process."

SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav expressed his outrage, saying, "This scam has shattered the dreams of millions of aspiring doctors. The NEET exam must be re-evaluated to ensure fairness, and those found guilty must face strict legal consequences."

The controversy has cast a shadow over the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET UG 2024 exam. Critics argue that the integrity of the exam has been compromised, and there are calls for systemic reforms to prevent such incidents in the future. The NTA has yet to respond to these allegations, but the mounting pressure from political leaders and the public is likely to prompt an official statement soon.
