RIMS suspends classes for MBBS, BDS; Evacuates hostels

Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Jharkhand has given ultimatum to students to evacuate hostels within 24 hours and also suspended academic activities temporarily for all undergraduate students.

The decision is taken after a clash between students of two batches during a birthday bash.

As per the report of India Today, the reason given by largest hospital and medical college of Jharkhand is that the decision is taken due to continuous display of indiscipline and disobedience of the administration's instructions. On Tuesday, the situation became extreme when a huge number of students gathered at RIMS administrative block against the order, they reportedly vandalized parts of the director's residence and misbehaved with security guards.

Students are asking why because of few students, the entire batch is being punished. Hundreds of students have been agitating since morning against the orders of RIMS administration to vacate the hostel. One of the tweet reads, "Kudos to RIMS, Ranchi administration. They have successfully suspended 920 medicos without us being at fault."

Another tweet on the matter said, "The worst administration! Without thinking for Students, 920 Medical Students were asked to vacate hostels with all their luggage till further notice. Shame on administration of @RajendraOf @BannaGupta76. If you can't handle medical college, then resign and give responsibility to strong person who can actually think about Students and manage College."
