States, UTs told to conclude NEET PG Round 2 counselling by Nov 16

NEET PG Counselling 2022: Counselling for mop-up round shall be carried after the completion of Round 2 of counselling, a bench said.  

The Supreme Court has directed all the states and union territories to The Supreme Court on Friday directed all the states and union territories to complete the Round 2 of NEET PG counselling by November 16, 6 pm.The Supreme Court ordered, “In order to ensure the finality of the process of counselling in NEET PG we direct all states and union territories to complete the second round of counselling on November 16, 2022, at 6 pm and submit data on the same day to the MCC,” LiveLaw reported the order was passed by a bench comprising Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Hima Kohli.  

The bench further said the counselling for mop-up round shall be carried by competent authority after the completion of Round 2 of counselling. It directed Maharashtra to conduct state mop-up round only after AIQ mop-round is over. The order was passed in a contempt petition highlighting the grievances of Karnataka and Bihar, where mop-up rounds are already in progress while the second round of counselling has not been completed yet. 

Register for NEET PG mop-up round till tomorrow 

Meanwhile, on November 10, the Medical Counselling Committee extended the deadline to register and pay the fees for NEET PG mop-up round to November 13. Candidates will be able to register till 11 am of November 13, while pay the fees till 3 pm of the same day. They can register at the official website of MCC – mcc.nic.in. This was the second time the registration date was extended. It was earlier extended to November 10.
