UP CM Yogi Adityanath Announces AIIMS Satellite Centre in Ghaziabad, Pushes Medical Infrastructure Projects
The Chief Minister urged the Medical and Health Department to speed up the recruitment process of principals, doctors, and supporting staff.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during a high-level meeting in Lucknow, directed officials to enhance the state's medical infrastructure and expedite ongoing projects. He emphasized the need for medical colleges across the state to maintain essential medical equipment, including X-ray machines, ultrasound machines, and MRI scanners, through a dedicated corpus fund.
The Chief Minister urged the Medical and Health Department to speed up the recruitment process of principals, doctors, and supporting staff. "Specialist doctors should be provided with appropriate remuneration and incentives in accordance with their contributions," he stated.
Citing the efficient performance of private hospitals, Adityanath suggested extending their registration period from the current term to three to five years.
In a major announcement, Yogi Adityanath revealed the plan to establish a satellite center of AIIMS in Ghaziabad district, aiming to ease the burden on AIIMS Delhi. "For this, all the necessary procedures should be completed on time," he said. The project will provide much-needed medical services to the trans-Hindon area, home to over 20 lakh people, which currently lacks a government hospital.
Further, the construction of King George Medical University’s (KGMU) satellite center in Balrampur district is also set to be fast-tracked.
The Chief Minister highlighted the state's achievements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating, "The infrastructure of the medical sector in Uttar Pradesh is continuously improving. Currently, 64 districts in the state have medical college facilities, and the remaining unserved districts will soon be covered."
These developments mark a significant push towards improving healthcare access and infrastructure across Uttar Pradesh, with both public and private sectors playing key roles.
