After the launch of the Hindi MBBS textbook on October 16, now the state is all set to perform the Dhanvantari puja in all medical colleges. Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang said it is to make the state healthy and also it is a part of the Diwali festival.

Dhanteras will be celebrated with pomp in medical colleges in the state every year on the lines of the Ganpati festival, Sarang said, as reported by News 18.

"Dhanvantari, we pray for the good health of ours and others. On Dhanteras (which falls on October 22 this year), all medical colleges in the state will worship God Dhanvantari by organising a programme. All doctors, students and attendants of patients will participate and pray for the good health of all," he said.

Home Minister Amit Shah launched the MBBS course books in Hindi on October 16 in MP and now even the UP government is all set to start the medical and engineering colleges in Hindi from next year as announced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

He said some of the medical and engineering books have been translated into Hindi so that in the coming year, these courses can be made available in Hindi as well.

"We have utmost respect for #हिन्दी Language but starting #MBBS course in Hindi is not going to be of any benefit to doctors or patients. It will be a disastrous situation where ultimately medical students will suffer. Requesting @PMOIndia to intervene in this matter!," tweeted FAIMA Doctors Association.
