The Madhya Pradesh government reopened schools for physical classes from February 1 with 50 per cent capacity.
School reopening: With COVID-19 cases gradually declining, the Madhya Pradesh government decided to reopen schools, including residential ones, for Classes 1 to 2 with 100 per cent capacity from February 14, 2022 (Monday).
The Madhya Pradesh government reopened schools for physical classes from February 1 with 50 per cent capacity. The go-ahead to reopen schools in the state following all COVID-19 protocols was given by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan after consultation with medical experts.
The School Education Department, MP, tweeted, “New guidelines have been issued by the School Education Department in view of the current COVID-19 situation. All schools / residential schools / hostels will be functional for Classes 1 to 12 with 100 per cent capacity.”
According to the new guidelines, all schools, hostels will have to strictly follow COVID guidelines such as wearing of face masks, maintaining social distancing, hand hygiene, etc. On January 14, the state closed the schools and hostels for Classes 1 to 12 until January 31 in view of a surge in COVID cases.
UP schools to welcome students of all classes from Feb 14
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government has also released revised COVID-19 guidelines, as per which schools in the state will reopen for all classes on February 14, 2022. Private and government offices can also function at full capacity. Earlier, the state had reopened schools for offline classes for Classes 9 to 12 on February 7, 2022.
