Naveen Shekharappa father blames reservation system for his death

Yesterday came the tragic news of the death of Naveen Shekharappa, one of the Indian medical students stranded in the war-hit Ukraine. He reportedly died in shelling in Ukraine. While speaking to the media his father has said that the caste-based reservation and the high donation system in India force bright students to study medicine abroad despite scoring well here in India.

As per reports, his father has said that despite his son having scored 97% in PUC, he could not secure a medical seat in Karnataka. As per him, to get a medical seat in the state one has to give crores of rupees, whereas medicine courses abroad are more affordable and hence the students are choosing to study outside India.
