NEET 2022 Answer Key Delay: Student Reactions

NEET official answer key 2022 is expected to be released anytime soon. NEET 2022 was conducted on July 17 and since then, candidates have been eagerly waiting for the official NEET 2022 answer keys by NTA. As per the initial estimate and based on previous years’ trends, the answer keys of NEET 2022 were expected by the second week of August, or within a month of conducting the exam. As on today, a month and seven days have already passed since the exam date. There has not been any official information or update on NEET 2022 answer key release.

This delay is an indication that the entire cycle of events would be deferred, which is again a matter of worry for the students and stakeholders. The unwarranted delay would cause further postponing of the NEET 2022 result and counselling rounds, which would further result in a delayed start in the academic session. This would not just hamper the future of the students but the entire medical education fraternity.

Students Demand NTA to Release NEET 2022 Answer Keys Soon

Students have taken to various social media platforms to release their angst and disappointment with this delay. While some have minced no words, some have wrapped their anxiety in a humourous tone. The former have directly asked NTA the date of releasing the NEET 2022 answer key, or the reason behind this delay. The latter group of students have taken a dig at the exam authorities.

Nikhil, a student tweeted, “When is the neet answer key gonna release nta pls atleast update us or did u forgte there was a exam called neet?”

Joshika, another student wrote, “#NEET @DG_NTA seriously shame on you nta you are so ignorant we have been begging you for the answer key for so long atleast tell us when are you planning to release?”

Some students have taken a dig at NTA hinting at their slumberous attitude.

Rohan Kumar, a NEET taker asked NTA to release an official notification announcing the date for the NEET 2022 answer key and result dates.

Some have even mocked the idea to merge NEET, JEE and CUET from next year and conduct a common entrance exam. "Announcing NEET + JEE + CUET merge while NEET UG students are still desperately waiting for answer key and results of Neet exam, was not a good strategy to say the least," said a Tweet.

Response from NTA on Releasing NEET 2022 Answer Keys

Several students and stakeholders, including Shiksha.com have written to NTA release the provisional NEET answer key 2022. However, NTA has not responded to any of the emails yet.

Although there is no concrete reason which is causing this delay, some possible reasons include a large number of NEET 2022 takers (over 18 lakh), controversy regarding NEET 2022 in terms of mix-up of question papers in terms of language opted for, NTA being the exam authority for other top exams such as JEE Main and CUET among others.

It is expected that NTA will release the provisional NEET 2022 answer key by the fourth week of August and provide a three-day window to file objections against the provisional keys. The final answer keys and NEET 2022 result is expected by mid-September.
