NEET PG 2022 aspirants demand exam postponement

All India Medical Students' Association (AIMSA) has demanded to postpone the NEET PG 2022 examination which is scheduled to be conducted on May 21.

AIMSA tweet reads, "Doctors of the Nation are suffering injustice regarding #NEETPG2022 because:

1) Their gap between counselling & exam day is insufficient to prepare

2) The ineligibility of interns all over the nation

3) Gap between 2 batches of PGs Will be NIL."

Doctors write to demand postponement of NEET PG 2022

AIMSA has written to the concerned authorities and tagged the NMC, health ministry and PMO. The association has mentioned their points for this demand on behalf of NEET PG 2022 aspirants. Here are the following points:

  1. More than 5000 interns from Kerala, Bihar, J&K and Jharkhand are ineligible for NEET PG as their internship was delayed due to Covid duties in the final year. The present internship deadline doesn't allow them to appear for NEET PG 2022 and will have to wait for one more year.
  2. Counselling of NEET PG 2021 AIQ ends on May 3 and NEET PG exam 2022 is on May 21. State counselling will be even after that which are offline and required travel to distant cities which will disturb our studies during crucial last days. There is no gap between NEET PG 2021 counselling and NEET PG2022 exam and midrankers are forced to juggle between both."

NEET PG 2022 aspirants' demand

The aspirants are demanding to ensure a gap of 6-8 weeks between NEET PG 2021 counselling and the NEET PG 2022 exam and also to ensure eligibility of interns from Kerala, Bihar and J&K who are not eligible as per the current internship completion deadline.

National Students' Union of India (NSUI) also demanded the same. NSUI tweet says, "Our Doctors served the nation in the time of #Covid crisis, now Modi Govt is betraying them by not giving sufficient time for #NEETPG2022. It's the time to stand with the Saviours for their rational demand. We strongly demand @MoHFW_INDIA to #postponeneetpg for 8 weeks."
