NEET PG 2022: MUHS-run PG medical college to admit students via upcoming exam on May 21

MUHS Vice Chancellor has said that the maiden admissions for PG medical students in the new medical college MPGIMER will take place through NEET PG 2022.

The Maharashtra Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (MPGIMER) will be admitting its maiden batch through the upcoming NEET PG 2022 which is scheduled to be conducted on May 21, as confirmed by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) Vice-Chancellor Lt Gen Dr Madhuri Kanitkar (retd).

"A total of 59 postgraduate students would be admitted in the MPGIMER in seven disciplines. We are confident the National Medical Commission will permit us that number of initial intake in our PG college," said Dr Kanitkar, as reported by TOI.

The newly formed MPGIMER is a Nashik-based medical college and it would be the first medical college that would be managed by the MUHS university. In the beginning, the PG course will function from the Nashik Civil Hospital and later on, it will shift to new premises which will be near to MUHS premises.

MUHS appointed Dean and faculty members for MPGIMER

The university has appointed Major Gen Dr Sushil Kumar Jha (retd) as PG medical college dean and has also inducted faculty members for the newly built medical college.

MUHS VC has said that NMC inspected four disciplines including surgery, gynaecology, emergency medicine and paediatrics and would shortly inspect three remaining disciplines including anaesthesia, orthopaedics and medicine before giving the final nod.
