A bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and Hima Kohli has said that it will not interfere with the NEET PG 2022 counselling which is scheduled to commence on September 1, 2022.

NEET PG 2022: Supreme Court denies interfering with counselling

Supreme Court has today said that it will not interfere with the NEET PG 2022 counselling as it will put the students in jeopardy.

A bench comprising Justices DY Chandrachud and Hima Kohli said, "We will not interfere. Let the NEET PG counselling go through. Don't stall it anymore. We cannot put the students in jeopardy," as reported by Live Law.

The Background

The counsel of the petitioner had submitted, "Counselling is to start from September 1. Kindly list it before that."

The petition was filed by doctors who completed MBBS and registered under State Medical Council and petitioners alleged serious discrepancies in the scores of NEET PG 2022. The writ petition challenged the decision of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBE) to not release the answer key and question paper of NEET PG 2022.

NEET PG 2022 counselling to commence on September 1

The counselling for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) is to begin on September 1 with the registration for Round 1 counselling, the last date to complete registration for Round 1 is September 4.

According to the NEET PG 2022 counselling schedule, candidates will be able to declare choices and lock the same till September 5. The seat allotment result for Round 1 NEET PG 2022 counselling will be released on September 8. Only those who qualified for NEET PG 2022 with the minimum cut-off percentile will be eligible to participate in the counselling.
