NEET PG 2022: TN MP writes to Mansukh Mandaviya to postpone exam
Senior Advocate and Member of Parliament, P Wilson has written to the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviiya and demanded to postpone the examination by 6-8 weeks.
P Wilson, the Senior Advocate and Member of Parliament from Tamil Nadu, has written to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviiya and said that conducting NEET PG 2022 on May 21, is a grave injustice to students.
P Wilson's tweet reads, "It is grave injustice to students to fix #NEETPG2022 on May 21, when admission process for NEET PG 2021 concluded only on May 7. By direction of Hon. CM @mkstalin I have addressed Hon. @mansukhmandviya avargal to postpone the exams by atleast 6-8 weeks & help students."
The letter to the Union Health Minister highlighted that NEET PG 2021 counselling got delayed due to pending cases in the Supreme Court related to OBC reservations and INR 8 lakh criteria to determine the EWS category.
"In this background, due to the intervening legal issues, the final allotment (mop-up round) for NEET PG 2021 was released only on March 24, 2022. The mop-up round was conducted and cancelled and then a special round for 146 PG students was conducted on April 7, 2022, under orders of Hon'ble Supreme Court," reads the letter.
"Thereafter, the stray vacancy final results were published on May 2, 2022, and intimations were sent to the students by May 3, 2022. The candidates who secured seat allotments in the stray mop-up round of NEET PG 2021, have been requested to report to their respective institutes by May 7, 2022."
NEET PG 2022 preparation time is less than three weeks, says P Wilson
His letter cited the insufficient gap between NEET PG 2021 counselling and NEET PG 2022 exam. The letter added that considering the fact that NEET PG 2021 counselling admission process has been completed only by May 3, 2022, and if the NEET PG 2022 exam will be conducted on May 21, the time provided for the preparation of NEET PG 2022 is less than three weeks.
