NLUO: 14th Intra-University Moot Court Competition (IUMCC) Phase I on Aug 12-14

Phase 1 of the 14th edition of the Intra-University Moot Court Competition (IUMCC) of NLUO is scheduled to be held from August 12 to August 14, 2022.

The Intra-University Moot Court Competition (IUMCC) is a bi-annual internal moot organized by the Moot Society of NLUO, which entails written submission and oral presentation rounds. Students of NLUO, participate in the internal moot to be eligible to participate in national/international moots in the pool of IUMCC moots. Thus, IUMCC forms a very important co-curricular activity and is the cornerstone of NLUO's thriving mooting culture and its stupendous performance in various moots across India.

Phase I of the 14th edition of IUMCC is scheduled to be held from August 12 - August 14, 2022. Across these three days, participants of IUMCC undergo rigorous and extensive oral presentation rounds before an acclaimed panel of judges, who are acclaimed professionals in the subject area.

NLUO organised state level consultation on a draft national policy for persons with disabilities

The Centre for Disability Law and Advocacy (CDLA), NLUO organised a “State Level Consultation on Draft National Policy for Persons with Disabilities”, jointly with the Odisha Association for the Blind and the Child & Women Development Society on August 8, 2022.

On August 4 2022, the Centre for Disability Law and Advocacy organised an interactive session with Senior Advocate Pankaj Sinha. The session was open to all the students and faculty of the university. It was held in an informal manner where the attendees got to interact with the speaker and express their opinions, and views and raise questions regarding the issues discussed.

After the introduction of the speaker, Vice-Chancellor, Prof Ved Kumari, started off the event by sharing incidents with respect to students with disability on the campus and then invited the speaker to begin the session.

The speaker, Pankaj Sinha, is a senior advocate at the Supreme Court of India. He has many such cases to his name that have made many facilities accessible to persons with disabilities.
