CUET 2022 aims to provide equal opportunity to all the students and will not have common counselling, the UGC chairman said.
University Grants Commission Chairman Dr Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar today clarified that the admission process of the Central Universities and other Universities across the country will remain same and will not change. However, Universities will have the option to choose CUET Score 2022 in whatever ways they want to.

"NEP says that we need to encourage multi-disciplinary education. Most of the Universities across the country are aiming to work towards it. If the admission policy of the University allows admitting a BTech student in MA Economics then that process will continue. It is completely up to the University. University will be given the choice to modify their admission policy or to use the CUET 2022 score in whatever way possible but it should be in line with the New National Education Policy 2020," he added.
When asked about the counselling process, he said, " there will be no common counselling. If a University has a constitute college or affiliated colleges, it will be up to the University to decide whether to will have common counselling or its wish to continue with their admission policy or use CUET score."
CUET 2022 aims to provide equal opportunity to all the students, he said, adding, " To provide opportunity to more students, more economically weaker students, and those who are residing in remotest area, the CUET 2022 is being implemented. CUET will ensure equal and quality education to one and all."
The first CUET for admissions to 42 central Universities is expected to be conducted between June and July. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon be releasing the official notification regarding the same. It must be noted that the CUCET will be conducted in 12 scheduled languages- Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and Punjabi. The exam will be conducted in 15 test centers across the country. The test will be computer-based and will have two sections; i.e. computer aptitude test and domain-specific test.
