Advisory Expert Panel has been Set Up by NRA to Recommend Common CET Syllabus and Exam Pattern
National Recruitment Agency (NRA) has formed an expert advisory committee to recommend a common syllabus and exam pattern for Common Eligibility Test (CET) to shortlist candidates for a select category of government jobs. In a written reply in Rajya Sabha on March 24, the Minister of State (MoS) Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Jitendra Singh said, “An expert advisory committee has been setup by NRA to recommend, inter-alia, the common syllabus and scheme for the CET.”
“The officers/officials posted in NRA include Chairman, Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations, Director and Deputy Secretary etc.,” he further added.
What is NRA CET?
In the 2020-21 budget, it was announced that National Recruitment Agency (NRA) will be set up as an independent, professional and specialist organization for the conduct of a computer-based online Common Eligibility Test (CET) for recruitment to Non-Gazetted posts. The NRA CET will screen/shortlist candidates for certain categories of posts in Central Government for which recruitment is carried out through the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Based on the screening done through the CET score, the final selection for recruitment will be made through separate specialized tests/examinations, to be conducted by the respective recruitment agencies.
Exams Included under NRA CET
NRA is like to take the responsibility of conducting the screening test for exams such as SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC GD, SSC GD, SSC CPO, SSC Stenographer, SSC JHT, SSC MTS, RRB Group D, RRB NTPC, IBPS Clerk, etc.
When NRA CET 2022 Notification will be Released?
NRA CET 2022 notification is expected to be announced soon. The detailed syllabus and exam pattern will be mentioned in the notification. There will be separate online NRA CETs for graduates, Class 12 and Class 10 candidates. Earlier, the first NRA CET was scheduled to be conducted in early January 2022.
