Offline classes suspended until further orders amid severe air pollution: Delhi DoE

The Delhi government informed that the institutions, which were just beginning to open after remaining closed amid the ongoing deadly COVID pandemic, will have to again go back to conducting classes via online mode until further order.

Air Pollution: Amid the rising air pollution, the Directorate of Education of the Delhi government made a big announcement by issuing a notice stating that all physical classes will remain shut in the National Capital until further notice. The government further added that in order to curb the academic loss, the online classes, however, will continue.

A similar was issued by the Delhi government last week stating the closure of schools and suspension of offline classes until further order due to air pollution. Through the order, the Delhi government informed that the institutions, which were just beginning to open after remaining closed amid the ongoing deadly COVID pandemic, will have to again go back to conducting classes via online mode until further order.

A series of directions were also released by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to the governments of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to guide them deal with the air pollution crisis.

Apart from the suspension of offline classes and closure of schools, the CAQM also directed that government offices in Delhi-NCR must allow at least 50 per cent of their staff to work from home.

The Delhi government also issue ten directions in the Capital as an effort to combat air pollution. These directions include a ban on the entry of trucks carrying non-essential items and closure of schools and colleges till further orders. The ban has also been imposed on construction and demolition activities by the government. The decision has been taken considering Delhi’s air quality that remained very poor on Sunday morning.
