Panel formed to revise Anna University syllabus: TN Education Minister

Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister K Ponmudi has announced that a committee has been formed to revise Anna University syllabus.
He said the curriculum will be prepared keeping in mind the industry requirements. The syllabus revision exercise is expected to begin around mid-March. As many as 90 experts -- 10 experts each from academicians and IAS officers, 10 human resources experts, 10 top-ranked students from various departments and 10 alumni -- have been identified for the purpose.
Ponmudi said the state government will extend all help for the students, who came home from war-torn Ukraine. โThe state government will assist all the students who came back from Ukraine,โ he said. He said a committee has been constituted to come out with stateโs exclusive โEducation Policy.โ
Earlier, Anna University Vice-Chancellor had said that the university curriculum had not been revised for 25 years due to which students from even core engineering subjects such as mechanical and civil, were facing problems to get jobs during campus recruitment drives. โOne of the issues that will be discussed is the introduction of courses in emerging technologies,โ he had said.

Velraj is also the chair of an advisory committee of TechKnow 2022, a joint initiative of Anna University and the All India Manufacturers Organisation, which is scheduled to be held at College of Engineering, Guindy, on April 22 and 23.
Some features of the event include a talent hunt fair to identify students for early internships; a job fair with an opportunity for students to be hired in seven industrial sectors; an event for students having ideas but lacking opportunities, where they will get an opportunity to develop their ideas and become entrepreneurs.
