Let’s Celebrate Exams like Festivals

Expressing happiness towards conducting Pariksha Pe Charcha via physical mode with the declining cases of the novel coronavirus, PM Modi said that PPC is his favorite program "This is my favorite program. But due to Corona, I could not meet friends like you in between. Today's program is a special pleasure for me because after a long gap I am getting a chance to meet you all,” PM Modi said. The Prime Minister also said that students often feel that exams and festivals collide and they are not able to enjoy them. He further added let us celebrate exams like festivals and give our best.

Do not let Exam Pressure take over your Mind

Several students said that they panic during exams and asked PM to help them cope with the pressure of scoring well. Answering their query, the Prime Minister said that do not let the exam pressure take over your mind. Make yourself understand that this is not the first time you are appearing for the exams. Treat exams like festivals, keep your confidence high and have belief in your preparations.

Medium of Education is not the Problem, Mind is

Education via offline or online is not the problem, it is the mind that creates problems during learning, PM Modi said while answering students' and teachers' queries on difficulties being faced during online teaching. Students should introspect themselves while studying online, whether they actually study or spend time watching reels on social media, said PM Modi. The Prime Miniter further added that education via digital mode is a part of evolution, it must not be treated as a problem. Online education comes with various advantages. With online education, students can grasp as much as possible that is available on the internet from all over the world.

Learn Online, Apply Offline

While online education comes with various advantages, one cannot learn without self-practice and study. PM Modi asked students to understand themselves, meditate and understand their within to staff focussed and achieve success. "Online education is based on the principle of attaining knowledge while offline education is regarding sustaining that knowledge and practically applying it further," said PM.

National Education Policy (NEP 2020) will redefine the Meaning of Education

NEP 2020 opens doors for development. There is a need for students, teachers and educators around the nation to understand the National Education Policy and develop ways to implement the same in the education world. Talking about the formation of NEP 2020, PM said, "So many people were involved in drafting the policy. We were brainstorming on it for the last 6-7 years. We took various advice from teachers & students from far-flung areas along with modern intellectuals to come up with this policy."

Focus on children's capabilities and desires, PM to parents and teachers

Do not inject your dreams and desires into your children. Do not force your kids to achieve what you always wanted to achieve. Such behavior creates problems in children's minds. "Students should not feel they are under pressure from teachers and parents to score good marks. Parents should not inject their dreams into children. They should be allowed to decide their future freely," PM Modi asked parents. "Parents sometimes fail to understand the strengths and interests of their children. We should understand that every child is blessed with something extraordinary that parents and teachers fail to discover a lot of times, PM added.

Talking to the teachers, PM said that please do not just focus on the completion of the syllabus but also focus on what the students desire, what are his/her areas of interest, what is his/her caliber and capability.

Face Difficulties do not seek Sympathy

Understand motivating factors for yourself. Do not feel bad about your difficulties, rather face the problems and believe that you do not need sympathy, you yourself are capable of ending your own miseries, PM asked children to become independent and confident. Learn from specially-abled people who find different ways to enhance their capabilities. They do not feel any less of themselves, rather they find ways to be independent, PM said. God has deprived a disabled person of so many abilities but the disabled have transformed those weaknesses into strengths. Students should introspect & look into what are the weaknesses that are hindering them from progressing, PM said to students.

Write a letter to Exam

"Dear Exam, I have learned a lot, I am prepared to face you, I am confident about my capability," PM asks students to write a letter to exam and face their fears. Answering a query on how to stay motivated, PM said, "It is important to know yourself. Know what are the things in it that frustrate you, put them aside. Then you get to know the things that naturally inspire you. You must analyze your own subject."

Understand if your Investment is equal to your Returns

You must analyze your output and outcome. Analyze if the time you are investing in a subject is giving you that much outcome. We often invest time in the subjects that we love. However, to increase productivity and outcomes, one should invest time in subjects that they find unamusing and tough. Students sometimes face difficulties while making important decisions. Students should develop a habit of revising whatever they have learned in class with their friends. This will help them absorb knowledge together, PM told students.

Become Competitive Towards Success

Treat your life as a competition. "We often connect ‘Dhyaan' and concentration with Rishi-Muni. We all need that in our everyday life. It teaches us to be present in the moment and concentrate on the task at hand," PM Modi told students. He further asked students to become competitive in life and try to achieve their goals with utmost practice and confidence.
