PG medical courses' fees in private colleges of Haryana increase by almost 100%

The fees of MD/MS courses in private medical colleges of Haryana is increased by almost 100% from the current academic session.

Haryana private medical colleges have hiked the fees of Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) courses by almost 100% from the current academic session. The state government has informed this through a notification that all the doctors seeking admission to these courses must know that now the total fee would be near to INR 16.5 lakh per annum including INR 14.02 lakh tuition fee and INR 2.5 lakh other charges. Earlier, the total fee was nearly INR 8.85 lakh.

In government medical colleges, the fees for these courses are much below as compared to the private colleges. Siddhi Nath Roy, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical Education and Research Department had issued a notification to fix the fee of these courses in the government medical colleges which has been fixed to  INR 1.25 lakh, INR 1.5 lakh and INR 1.75 lakh for the first, second and third year respectively.

The doctors looking to pursue MD/MS in clinical specialities such as respiratory medicine, general surgery, radiotherapy, general medicine, anesthesiology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynaecology, and paediatrics should be ready to pay the highest tuition fee of INR 14.02 lakh per annum. Also, there will be additional charges of INR 2.5 lakh per year.

For the private medical colleges in Haryana affiliated with Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, there is a provision of a 10% increase in tuition fees annually for the three-year courses.
